Rancho Ponderosa was the first subdivision built on Rancho Santa Fe Rd back in the 1970s. The old RSF Rd was just two lanes and there was nothing on the south/east side of the road except Mary's Tack and Feed, a cow pasture and open land. It was the way to San Marcos or Palomar JC and that's how everyone got out there. Of course now, it's surrounded by homes in all directions, its a 6 lane road but once inside the neighborhood you can see the pride of ownership, the well maintained park and streets. The HOA is cheap, $40. Great schools close by, Stagecoach Park, Shopping and more shopping along El Camino Real just to the west. For fans of older homes, many have been updated in a mature neighborhood, this may be the spot.
